In late May I made miniature challah pins. I used real dough, just flour and water and shaped them. After they were baked I coated them in varnish. Using dough was lighter and less expensive than clay! I used epoxy to attach the pin backs. I make challah frequently, and one week I had a little left over and made a miniature loaf, which gave me the idea. I also like that the decorative challah signifies Jewish identity without being a religious symbol, like the magen david (Jewish Star) or Menorah. I sold some and gave others away as gifts.
